It is said that one day of October 1865,a German artist drew a beautiful picture on a card paper and intended to send to a friend as a wedding gift.However,no envelope could hold it.A postman suggested him to write the receiver's address on the back,and this is how the first post-card came into being.On 1st Oct,1869,the post-card was official issued in Vienna,Austria,and Austria became the first country to issue post-cards.
The advantages of post-card include:no need of envelope,beautiful designs,lower postage,etc.but the disadvantages are:easy to be damaged and hard to keep secrets safe.
Currently,with the fast development of internet and electronical ways of communication,the traditional post-cards are becoming less and less popular.
