在前不久的5.12大地震中，许多人民子弟兵投入到久救援的工作中，他们忘记自我专心的救人，一心只有救人，丝毫不顾自己的安危，全身心的投入到救援的工作中。其中我最敬佩的人那就是——谭千秋老师，他对学生的爱，远远的超过了他对自己的爱，对家人的爱！谭千秋老师只是一名普普通通的老师，可是他却塑造了他的伟大的形象。在地震来的那一刹那间，谭老师迅速组织学生有秩序的逃离，正在谭老师要逃离的时候，他发现有四个孩子在慌张之下没有逃离出去，于是谭老师就让这四个孩子躲在讲桌下，谭老师本来可以逃离开，可是谭老师不放心这四位学生，于是他死死的护住讲桌，以免他们受到伤害，那四个孩子是幸存了下来，可是谭千秋却永久的离开了我们，谭千秋老师对学生的爱深深的超过了他对自己的爱，对家庭的爱，他的心里只想着孩子们的安全，谭千秋老师是伟大的，是值得我们尊敬的。
谭老师的妻子张关荣更是悲痛的要命，她用纸巾擦拭着谭千秋老师的遗体，“昨天还软软的，今天怎么就变得这么硬了？”张关荣忍着悲伤的眼泪痛心地说。张关荣小心翼翼地梳着谭千秋老师生前最爱的头型，可是这一切仿佛过了好几年。在地震发生的前一天晚上，谭千秋老师正在和他的妻子开开心心的谈着话，可是就经过了短短的几分钟内，他们这对开心的家庭就被分隔阴阳两间，从此在也见不到面了，想到这里张关荣不禁放声大哭。
还有一位人民子弟兵，在发生地震的当晚就被派到一个重灾区，他在一幢摇摇欲坠地居民楼前做救援工作，楼里有许多的小孩子，他正在奋不顾身的抢救中，忽然有人上前强行将他拉开，拉到了一处十分安全的地方，可是这位人民子弟兵在途中多次请求再救一个就一个！可是没有人理会，他绝望地说：“我求求你们了，就让我再救一个，就一个我还能再救一个！”可是尽管他怎样请求，都无济于事。在他刚到安全区的时候，一阵余震来了，摇摇欲坠的房屋立刻轰然倒塌，这位战士哭了，他跪在居民楼前，每个人都为之动容。这就是陌生人对陌生人的爱，社会对陌生人的爱，这种爱值得让我们尊敬，这种爱就是伟大的爱，这种爱让我们肃然起敬！
